Statement: This painting depicts an abstracted portrait of a human face. The artwork is painted with thick textured brushstrokes as well as dry brushing. Theres is layering of pink, blues, purples, and golden yellow, creating floral swirling forms; which resemble the figures hair. The curling hair covers the right eye of the figure and forms into the abstracted shape of a flower. The painting invites the viewer to reflect with it in their own way. It appears to depict the cycle of a human face deconstructing into floral features. The hair becomes petals, the skin becomes the soil; the soul of the individual blooms and fades with the brushes strokes.
