Simon Persaud is a contemporary Indo-Guyanese Canadian artist based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Having studied Visual and Digital Art at Humber College, his practice encompasses painting, traditional drawing, and digital illustration. His work is distinguished by expressive brushwork, intricate textures, flowing compositions, and a signature palette of soft floral colours. Drawing inspiration from nature , cultural heritage, spirituality, and philosophy, Persaud creates works that explore the interconnectedness of life and the relationship between humanity and the divine.

Central to his artistic philosophy is the belief that existence is fundamentally interconnected. Influenced by the philosophical traditions of Advaita Vedanta and the teachings of spiritual figures across cultures, his work explores themes of unity, compassion, devotion, and the divine presence within all living beings. Through his art, he seeks to communicate that beneath the apparent difference of form, culture, and belief lies a shared existence.

Beyond painting, Persaud has explored experimental filmmaking, animation, and digital media. His artistic practice also includes metalpoint drawing, particularly works inspired by angelic imagery. His work was exhibited in Nuance, a graduate exhibition held at Humber Galleries’ Lakeshore campus.

For Persaud, art is more than an expression of personal identity; it is a means of contemplating existence and communicating the beauty of life through colour, form, and symbolism.
